3 - Why did you disappear in thin air?

"Stay at my side. I'm still protecting you" Kalyan said with a smile. He wasn't forgetting the fact that a guy wanted to do bad things to Balhazar

"...But how?" Castiel asked again, a bit confused. "Does that mean you will kiss me?" ** ZBAF **

Balthazar smiled at him, and indeed stepped closer, brushing his hand against Kalyan's. He liked to stay at his side. "Well, I'm lucky I have such a responsible bodyguard", he observed with a grin.

Dean flushed hard. Now his whole face was red, and he quickly averted his eyes from Castiel - that seemed simply confused by that, as opposed to embarrassed! "But, you don't even know if you're atracted to men, how can you ask for that", he protested, downing down his beer ina  single gulp to quench the embarrassment.

"A deadly one" Kalyan added with a proud smile. "I'll protect you and you won't ever be in danger again"

"..." Castiel thought a bit, and was about to answer, when his phone rang. He looked at it, a bit sorry. "Dean, I have to go. Can we talk later?"

"That sounds exactly like what I need", Balthazar answered with s nod of his head. "I might even think of offering you a whole lot more than a temporary contract!" Like a contract to be his boyfriend, maybe. Were those a thing?

Dean blinked, startled for a second. "... oh- oh, sure. Sorry, I probably kept you around a bit too long", he exclaimed, remembering that Castiel had an appointment with his family. "Sure, we can talk later. I have still the same phone number, do you have it?"

"You mean you want to hire us for good?" Kalyan raised a brow. "Some made that offer before. We declined. But with you it could be different"

"Of course" Castiel smiled at him and showed him the phone number registered in the phone. "I never forgot about you"

balthazar raised a brow. "I have a very strict policy on keeping my employees happy and comfortable. You refused the previous offer because it was a sketchy person - I am universally known for being a very good boss." He took great pride in that too!

Dean let out a smile. No lie, he was kind of moved! "I've never forgotten about you either", he exclaimed happily, showing to Castiel his number on his own cellphone. "Well. If you still have the same number, of course."

"You think your brother is sketchy?" Kalyan laughed a bit at the idea. "Eh, it's totally true"

"I still have" Castiel confirmed with a warm smile. "I'll text you after I see my family if something happens. And.. I'll ask you out one day" ** ZBAF **

"What could you expect by someone who calls himself Lucifer? Even though I am sure enough he also went for that nickname to get our mother to have a heart attack", Balthazar rolled his eyes. "Not that I would mind that. I am delighted in knowing that she still thinks she managed to spawn the Antichrist, a pornstar and a gay son."

Dean smiled brightly at him. "Well, I'll wait for your call then", he said. "Don't worry, by the way. I'll pay for these drinks!" And he would have not taken a no for an answer.

Kalyan shook his head and patted Balthazar's shoulder. "She doesn't deserve you and we'll make sure you'll forget soon about it. Here, we arrived at the restaurant"

"But !" Castiel tried to protest, obviously. And he lost, obviously. He had to retreat, to meet with his family, but he swore that next time!

"Oh, about the fact that she doesn't deserve me, I couldn't agree more", Balthazar said with a smug smile. "Nobody that treats me like she did does. I am very picky." He looked at the restaurant, smiling. "Well, it was really close then! And there is such a good smell of curry."

And Dean rolled his eyes, telling him that yeah yeah of course, he could pay another time. Or maybe not. Maybe he would have been QUICKER TO PUT MONEY ON THE TABLE!

"So let's try it!" And they went in to eat, and to have quality time! How about we jump to the family dinner

And jump we do! That evening, Balthazar was the first to arrive at the restaurant they had picked together with Chuck - it was nothing overly fancy, just a quiet, nice place. He looked a bit uneasy as he entered, which was a bit weird to him. He thought he had prepared himself well enough to withstand what he thought would have been an awkward dinner. At least at the beginning. But maybe he was wrong, and now he really started to panick as he thought how to even start a conversation with his brothers and his dad. "Will you sit a lot far away?", he asked, turning to Kalyan, a bit hesitantly.

"Not really" Kalyan raised a brow, a bit surprised. "If I'm too far, I cannot protect you efficiency. Are you afraid I will leave you alone here?"

"Well... I don't know", Balthazar admitted, quite frankly. He let the waiter guide them to a table. "I would understand if you felt the need to stay a bit further away. After all, I wouldn't feel at ease either, if I had to hear a private conversation in between family members", he explained, sitting down. He smiled, though. "I'm glad you'll be close."

"And I don't really care to hear about...I guess" Kalyan patted his shoulder. "Though it will depend. Will your bro talk about his career? That would be a problem"

Balthazar laughed. "Oh God, I hope not - we're going to eat, after all, and my dad's going to be there. I think even Gabriel has enough decency left to save us from hearing about his masterpieces in between the bedsheets." He paused. "I am pretty sure at least one of his movies is called like that."

"Oooh I hear that someone is keeping track of my career!" A voice said behind Balthazar. And Gabriel - because it was him - took off his sunglasses to smile at his brother. "Though if I chose an heterosexual career, it's to prevent you to stumble 'accidentally' on one of my movies!"

"...So thoughtful" Kalyan couldn't help to say. Quite amazed. Gabriel was so.... intense, in the way he was standing!

Balthazar was almost startled by the sudden apparition of his older brother. Almost, because Gabriel always had that kind of weird aura that has you either want to hide away forever to avoid talking with him, or to roll your eyes but smile nonetheless. Hopefully, for Balthazar, it was more of the second! He shook his head and couldn't help but hide a smile behind his hand. "Sunglasses? In the evening, really?" He snorted. "Yeah, right. 'Thoughtful'. It helps that as soon as I see your mug on the cover of a DVD I throw it on the other side of the shop", he observed, raising from the chair to greet him properly, smiling. "How are you, Gabe?"

"I'm concerned" Gabriel raised a brow and glared at his brother. "My DVDs are not the kind you find in regular shops. I thought you were my cute and innocent brother, and what do I learn! You hang out in the wrong places! Bad Balthazar!"

"Cute and innocent?" Balthazar scoffed, crossing his arms. "Do I look like Castiel to you? I think you are confusing us again. Just because we were born close to each other!" He did throw him a smirk, though. "And by the way, I am a grown up. I can go into whatever shop I want, and you can't stop me."

"I'm shocked and utterly upset!" Gabriel clenched his hand on his heart, faking a heart attack. But he did recover pretty quickly and opened wide his arms with a big smile. "Come here, bro! I missed you!"

Balthazar laughed, and yes, he hugged Gabriel. "Hey there", he greeted him again, patting his back. "I'm glad to see you again! How are you doing?", he askd then with a bright smile.

"Veeery good" Gabriel smiled widely. "I have a good news for all of you: I'm getting retired!"

I can totally picture Chuck saying "Oh thank god!" in the background

"No way! Really?" Balthazar sounded surprised. And with good reason! "I thought you enjoyed this job of yours. And that it was making a good lot of money!"

Yes, Chuck definitely let out a "Oh thank God" as soon as he heard that. He had come inside later than Gabriel, as he was looking for a parking spot. He smiled brightly and tearfully greeted Balthazar, hugging him tight. He had missed him, as he missed all of his sons!

"I have enough money and I want to do something else... Hey dad, don't act like I'm the shame of that family! I am, but just play along!" Gabriel sighed dramatically.
