"Shoosh, I don't want you to know that I don't have a wanted poster with my face on yet," Newt replied with a laugh. "Why don't you tell me yours first ?"

"Me? It's Ian." He didn't even bothered with a surname. Everyone tended to forget it, when in the Marine. Weird. "As for the wanted poster you don't have, you could always get one for trying to rob a Captain I guess", he added, helping Newt inside the hospital. "But as I said already, I don't really want people to know that."

Re: Cat & mouse game
Newt whistled. "Three years into the Marine, and you're already a captain ? I wouldn't exactly call you a "newcomer," he said with a soft laugh. Seeing how much blood he had lost, somebody probably took care of him right away. "Ah, stay there, Ian. I haven't told you my name yet ~"

"Ok, ok, I am not a Captain yet. Almost there. And I'll stay, it's not like I am needed anywhere", Ian shrugged with a smile. "I don't know, will you even actually tell me your name? Aren't you planning to, I don't know, run away and attempt to drown again?", he joked as a doctor brought Newt in a visiting room, to look at his bloody nose.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Newt sticked his tongue at Ian, playfully, as he disappeared in a room. A few minutes later, he came back out grinning, with two clouds of cotton stuck in each nostril. "I'm fixed ! So, how about you take me on a date so that you can learn my name ? ~"

Re: Cat & mouse game
Ian sighed with a small smile, rolling his eyes a bit. "I've already told you I won't arrest you. You can drop the act." He really didn't want to get his hopes up for n... No he hadn't just thought THAT. NO. 'The hell is wrong with me today!?' He panicked inwardly.

"I can still try to get you to buy me lunch, you broke my nose," Newt answered. Quite cheeky, for the guy who still had most of Ian's cash money in his pockets.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Ian scratched his neck sheepishly, avoiding Newt's gaze. "Well I... guess that would be fair... even though you still tried to steal my wallet", he added on a second thought. But he was still smiling. "Then I guess I owe you a lunch for that nose, don't I."

"Cool!" Newt smiled, beaming, and looked for something in his inner pockets. Before he handed Ian his money back. "You might need this." ** DUN DUN DUUUN **

Re: Cat & mouse game
Ian blinked, observing confused the money now in his hand. Then he looked at Newt. He sighed deeply. "I'll really have to keep a good eye on you, or I'll end up not only without wallet, but also without my clothes AND my dignity."

"Depends whether or not I'm still around tonight," Newt replied with a wolf-ish grin. "But eh, I gave it back to you. That's some sort of improvement, right ? ~"

"I guess it is...", Ian conceded, still sounding suspicious. "Well, let's go then." He went for the exit. "Do you happen to know a good place where to eat?" The only sign that he had indeed heard the first part of what Newt said were his bright red ears.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Newt crossed his arms behind his neck. "Well I don't know, it's my first time here. Since you work here, I hoped you could show me around ~" And he was indeed pleased to see Ian's reactions.

Ian smiled at him. "Then I know just the right place. If you don't mind fried fish and that stuff, because that's the only kind of places I can afford." After all he was just a lower official, and his pay wasn't that high.

"Oooh, fine by me ! I'm not much of the fancy type, if you couldn't tell," he joked as he readjusted the hems of his coat.

Ian laughed softly. "I couldn't tell, no. I thought that maybe you could afford better with the money you steal. Or are ypu always so unlucky as to meet wallets as empty as mine?" He walked him by the sea once again. The place where he eat usually maybe wasn't a five-star restaurant, but it had a great view!

"Well, you know. When your only source of income is stealing, you kinda learn how to spare. Quite odd, I know," Newt said, before he smiled brightly again. "Oh, I wish I could smell the food, it looks so delicous !"

Ian looked at him, cocking his head to the side. "You can't smell?", he asked curiously, distractedly asking the stall owner - a big man with a moustache that was almost bigger than his face - for two of his usual dish as he sat down.

"Dude, I have cotton stuck in my nose to prevent the blood from dripping anymore," Newt replied him with a smirk, as he sat down with him.

"... am I stupid or what", Ian said, the sound muffled as he was hiding his face in his hands. Had he had less dignity, he would have let his forehead bang against the table. God, he was so awkward.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Newt laughed. Kindly. And gently bumped Ian's leg with his foot. "Come on, it's okay. I'm not mad at you ~" He found him incredibly cute. Maybe too cute to be true.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Ian lowered his hands, then let out an embarrassed laugh after assuring himself that no, Newt wasn't angry with him. He was always quite... careful, with what he said. Bad experiences.
The dishes were brought to them, as well as beer and water. Ian observed the other man a bit. He still wasn't over the oddity of the situation. A marine eating at the same table with a guy that had tried to rob him just about an hour before? Yeah. Weird.

"What are you looking at ?" Newt asked him with a grin. He had started to eat as soon as they got served, as if he was... yes. Starving.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Ian smiled at him, as he picked up his own fork to start eating. "I was thinking of how absurd this situation is. Probably the last thing I expected when I got up this morning", he mused. And well, Newt was also quite handsome. And well, he really should have stopped thinking that before he let it slip out damnit.

Re: Cat & mouse game
Newt smiled back at him. "Me neither. A failed robbery, a broken nose, and then a fine lunch. This is pretty ridiculous in itself, but... I wouldn't call it a bad day ~"
