2 - The new world

Raphael rolled his eyes dramatically, and did so one more time when he saw what Eileen was signing to Sam. Thankfully for his sister, although he was startled by the news, it didn't look like Sam minded it too much.

"Ah. I see. Can I still come with you both to where your house is? I'm afraid you'll have trouble finding it in the dark." He smiled kindly at Eileen, although he was a little nervous because of Raphael's presence.

Eileen smiled brightly back at Sam. He really was a sweetheart. "Sure - I think we'd have trouble finding the way by ourselves anyway. Thank you, Sam", she added, using the sign he had taught her for his name. She turned to half-glare at Raphael. "Be nice", she reproached him.

Raphael half-glared at his sister, but he didn't complain. Because of his presence, Sam didn't dare to talk to Eileen much again, and instead just escorted them back to their house, in front of which he stopped. "Alright. We're here." He turned to Eileen and smiled one last time at her. "Good night. I'll see you tomorrow, maybe?"

Raphael stared at the both of them, squinting suspiciously. He might not be able to talk to Eileen much once inside the house - it seemed like it was too dark for them to decipher anything in there - but they surely would have a long talk in the morning.

"Of course. You owe me a tour around the city, if I remember well. Don't think you can escape", Eileen teased him kindly. "Thank you again. Good night", she added, before she made her way inside the house. She did her best to ignore Raphael's suspicious glares - and to ignore her own giddiness at the thought that she'd see Sam again the day after!
