Speaks for itself. Telephone landlines, the radio, electricity and private plumbing are a thing. So are fancy clothes with a lot of layers for men, and long, shapeless dresses for women.

We’ll take some liberties and assume it’s not that unusual to see women wearing pants as well sometimes, but it’s sometimes frowned upon unless they have a specific profession.

Dwarves, elves and orcs are living alongside humans. Aside from a little racial tension here and there, they’re mostly on an equal foot regarding everything. Then again, the bigger the individual, the scarier they get, whether they are an orc or else.

Those are the ones known to the public, though. You still have some considered as monsters – mostly, creatures who will give in to cannibalism, ghosts, etc.

Soulmate marks usually appear somewhere around adolescence, when individuals have made choices in their lives that will determine how they’ll be likely to meet their soulmate. That concept itself conditioned people to choose their words wisely around someone they find to their tastes, for a peculiar first sentence helps your significant other to figure out you’re the one, and not the millionth “Hi, nice to meet you” they’ll hear in their lives.

Supernatural monsters, ghosts, cursed objects and so on are known to the government, but not to the public. The Men of Letters is a tolerated secret side-organization, with a great deal of power. They can remove the police or special forces from a case of they deem it’s linked to a supernatural element, and usually provide little to no explanation for why they did it, or how the case itself ended. The police forces know their existence, and they loathe them with a passion. Granted, their interventions seem to save citizens, but it also seems like they’re in various shady businesses with the mafia.

And they are. The actual mafia – consisting of mostly canon demons, and others - controls the black market, and some of the official one thanks to money, persuasion (read ‘death threats’), and they happen to count a great number of witches within their ranks. Hence the reason why they either work with or against the Men of Letters’ organization, depending on their own personal interests.
