2 - It's Friday

Selena opened the photo file that Raphael had just sent her and let out a chuckle. From the redness on his face, she could guess he had been drinking - was he tipsy? Was that the reason for which he had found the guts to write to her after days of radio silence? Probably.
he was cute, though. "Indeed. Good job on getting started", she praised him. "You look nothing like Gabriel. I'm surprised - from what he described, I was expecting someone way more plain - instead you have some looks on you." Yep, she had dropped a little compliment. Why not. She opened her photo app and took a little selfie as well - she wasn't really smiling, but then again she rarely did so in pictures. "There. For your troubles - so now we both stuck our necks out there."

Raphael blinked a few times at Selena's messages first, trying to sort out his feelings about it. 'Gabriel, you fucker' came first, but was she- complimenting him? Did he like it? Hell yeah he did like it. He felt his insides tingling when he got a picture from Selena, though.
"Wait. Are you telling me you took this pic right now?" Did she look beautiful 24/7 now? Oh no. Oh no his crush was getting worse.

"I did. Why? Did you think I was catfishing you?", Selena typed back, poking at him a bit. Had she wanted to catfish someone, she'd have sent a way nicer picture. Please.
That, and she wouldn't have picked that unflattering shot for her profile picture - she had definitely just installed this app to mess around, that much was obvious. Her Instagram, on the other side, looked almost as professional as Theseus' and Carleen's.

"No. I'm just surprised you look good even at- what time is it, 1am?" he rubbed his hand on his face. "Speaking of which I should probably sleep now." He paused, feeling particularly 'socially inept' for a bit. "Would you mind if I talked to you again?" Possibly sober, if he managed.

Selena held back a smile. So she looked good even without make-up on, and with her hair unstyled? Well. Not that she had doubts, but it was still good to receive some of sweet, sweet validation. "Looking good is a state of mind. I always look good, at any given time. Don't be surprised", she answered haughtily - but honestly, nonetheless. She reflected for a little bit before typing her answer. "I wouldn't mind."

Raphael let out a genuine smile. Damn. She was not only beautiful, he liked her wits. He'd definitely die of embarrassment on the next morning for having drunk-texted her, but he was also feeling better at the knowledge that they could maybe just chat. Even if it lead to nowhere. "Thank you. Well. Good night, then. I'll talk to you another time. Hopefully sober."

Selena snorted. "Hopefully. Well, have a good night then - and good luck for your hangover tomorrow morning. You'll need it." She closed the app, frowning when she saw the time. It was definitely too late to still be awake.
Better get ready to go to bed.
