Undercover (Yvonne+Donovan)

Donovan's breath stopped for a few seconds. "...Did Diamante tell you that ? How did they-" and then it stroke him. He didn't dare to ask another last question, clenching his hands together.

"I don't think he fully trusts me either, so we should get seen together as little as possible. He is planning to capture you." Yvonne gave out all the informations as quickly as she could, in the lowest voice possible. Then she got silent for some minutes. "Listen... I know what you are thinking. Yes, he knows who you are. But not exactly for the reason you imagine." There was a sense of urgency in her voice.

"...What do you mean," asked Donovan, his voice betraying how nervous he felt in that instant.

Yvonne's eyes darted around once again, dubious if to tell him about the fact that she knew the whole story or not. She decided to let him assume what he wanted. "He... was trying to keep you safe." She didn't need to say who she was talking about. " 'A friend of mine asked me to never kill him if I ever met him.' " She repeated the exact words Diamante had said.

Donovan just choked on a sob at that point, and brought his hands to his face, his head dropping. The pain was still too recent for him to bear hearing that Vergo had really cared about him.

Yvonne respected that moment, keeping silent for some time. Her hand looked for him blindly, gripping his shoulder tight, to make him feel she was there. They didn't know each other well, so maybe it wasn't that big of a comfort. But oh she knew how it felt, to lose someone that dear, and keeping it all for yourself was the worst thing to do. "I... thought you had to know." She bit her lower lip.

"Just go away," he breathed heavily, not daring to look up to her. "They might be following you around." His tone was cold, but he couldn't control much of his emotion. Damn, even his voice was shaking.

Yvonne gripped him tighter, her nails almost breaking his skin. "I have just one last thing to tell you." Her voice got colder, mirroring his. And harsher. "Don't." She just bluntly told him that, not even caring to say anything further to explain herself. "Take some time to get a hold of yourself, cool down your head, and don't /dare/ to think of acting upon your pain. Don't." She left his shoulder.

"You don't fucking know what I might even be thinking right now," he snarled almost instantly, anger and grief blinding him.

Yvonne growled, looking down at him. Her voice was like ice, but deep in her eyes something was burning. "I know enough of the kind of thing you are passing to /imagine/ what is going around in your brain. If you were thinking of making this your own suicide mission, I got news for you. You're NOT going to."

Donovan looked up at her, surprised. But he frowned nonetheless. His eyes asked "who are you for giving me orders", but his mouth remained shut. He finally looked away, fingers twiching on his own clothes. "Fine. We'll talk about this next time," he growled.

"I am counting on that." Yvonne squinted at him, her mouth still pressed in a thin line. "We'll see each other soon. Keep yourself in line until then." And with a last, warning glare, she was gone.

Donovan sighed and remained in his spot. The best he could do now would be to keep a low profile, since Diamante already know who he was. He angrily kicked a rock, although that didn't change anything.
A few minutes later, Diamante was out of his cabin, and looked for Yvonne, a smirk on his lips. "Hey there, sunshine," he called her from afar. Of course, he was so fucking tall he could spot anyone in a blink of an eye.

Yvonne smiled back and waved slightly with her hand, walking up to him and stopping at a reasonable distance. "Good evening, sir. Is everything ready for my fight?"

"Aren't you eager to start," laughed Diamante as he looked... fondly at her. I've found you two punks to fight against. Let's see first what you're capable of," he said, as he gestured her to come closer.

Yvonne got closer, her hand already on her sword, that was always hanging at her side. "Of course I am eager. I am always up for a good fight." She smiled.

"Good to know! Lads, everybody with me to the training ground," he barked, as he waited for Yvonne, as if he wanted to personally lead her there.

Yvonne got at his side, slowly tilting her head, stretching her arms up, above her head. She was more than ready. 'I am no newbie. These lowly thugs don't stand a chance against me', she thought to reassure herself. Even so, better not lower her guard.

Diamante had chosen two opponents to fight Yvonne. Both looked scary, but weren't used to fight differently than just diving in combat, and then punching/attacking straightforwardly. She would have no problem beating them, to Diamante's pleasure.

Yvonne huffed, seeing her opponents. They were big and scary, but that was probably it. "So. How far can I go?", she asked to Diamante, looking up at him. "Because if I strike right, you can find yourself two men less."

Diamante chuckled at this. "Well... let's see how fast you defeat them. In case of doubt, just look at me. I'll gesture you if you should spare them," he showed his thumb up, "or end them," he showed his thumb down. "Amaze me, sunshine ~"

"Very well." Yvonne smiled faintly at him and stepped over to the training ground, entering it. She stretched a bit again, then drew her sword out with a swift, practiced gesture, holding it with her right hand. The other hand going behind her back, in the typical position of a fencer. Her straight posture showed even more in this. Then she waited for the match to start.

They attacked Yvonne one after the other. The first one was using a sword, but was waving it in an aggressive rather than efficient way towards her.

Yvonne dodged it quite easily, blocking the sword with her own, then elbowing him hard in a sensitive spot on the side, to make him fall. Pointing her sword at his throat now.

The poor pirate fell on the ground, not even understanding what was happening to him.
And on his seat, Diamante smirked widely, and turned his thumb down, for Yvonne to know what to do with her opponent. This was also for him a way of testing her.
