Spymasters and Inquisition

Yvan looked at her hand, a bit lost, but then took his hands to his head while holding back a pained sound. He nodded quickly, clearly fighting off Ash.

Nadia brought her palm to his forehead, murmuring quietly a long string of foreign-sounding words. The blue fire coming from her hand seemed to go under his skin for a brief moment. She pressed both her palms on him, biting her lower lip, concentrating hard.

Suddenly, Yvan started screaming as a black smoke swirled out of his mouth, trying to escape Nadia by diving to the floor, to escape. And I'll let you choose whether she can catch Ash or not!

Nadia tried hard to catch Ash, but she was too concentrated keeping his powers inside Yvan, and keeping him alive, to manage to stop him from fleeing. Ash would have lived. Luckily or unluckily, that depended on the points of view!

Ash then escaped them, and Yvan gasped for air, before he finally coughed when there was no more sign of the demon inside of him. He looked exhausted... yet happy. "Is... is he really gone?"

Nadia smiled. "Yes. He is gone. He will live, but... he's gone." Horknath whistled, admired. He patted Yvan's back. "You're free, man! Congratulations!"

Yvan laughed kindly, and made a victory sign before he yawned. "Aw, man. I feel like I haven't slept for a whole week now. I guess it was to be expected?" He asked Nadia, rubbing his eye.

Nadia nodded. "It is normal. Don't worry, after a good night's sleep and a nice breakfast, you'll be as good as new", she told him.

Yvan yawned yet again. "Nice. Would anyone mind to escort me back to bed?" he asked with a soft smile, as he tried to get up.

Horknath picked him up with ease. "There, I got you", he said. Nadia got up herself, dusting her uniform. "Let's go home. Our job here is done. Oh, by the way. Great work, gentlemen", she threw them a radiant smile, bowing deeply to them. "I would never have done it without your help." Serah chuckled. "Yeah, everything's fantastic. Can someone help me up please?"

Valdyr nodded to Nadia, and then turned to Serah, sighing. "Don't tell me none of your tall colleagues is showing up?" he told her, as he helped her up of her chair as best as he could.

Serah sighed, trying not to weigh herself on him too much. "Nah. They are all probably drunk and lost in the palace... wait, you mean other elves or other people from the Inquisition?"

"... I said colleagues, which means people from the Inquisition," Valdyr snorted as he helped her get back to one of their carriages outside.
