Don't ask, don't tell

Horknath rolled his eyes. "You can use mine. You're lucky I don't have to sleep tonight", he told him. "You'd better buy yourself one, when you arrive in the next city. That is, if you want to keep on travelling!"

Yvan nodded. "Not that we'll keep travelling together, right ? from what I got, you guys would rather go alone to... wherever you're going," Yvan said vaguely, as he grabbed Horknath's sleeping bag.

Horknath just leant back on his arms, sitting more comfortably. "All depends on Valdyr", he just answered laconically, nodding towards the tent. "I don't mind you around. Demonic possession aside", he added. "Well. Goodnight then."

"Thanks. Good night, Horknath," Yvan replied, as he made his way inside the tent. Thankfully, Valdyr felt too kind to kick him out, so he could sleep inside for the night.

Horknath had no difficulties in keeping awake for the whole night. If anything, he got a bit bored, but he solved that problem very fast.
When the sun raised, he was still nose deep in one of the two books he currently travelled with.

Valdyr got up first, and arched a brow when he saw Horknath reading. He smiled though for once. " 'Morning. Night's been long?"

Horknath closed the book as soon as he heard the first word. He looked behind his shoulder. "Hey", he grunted. "Yeah, and pretty boring honestly. Did you manage to sleep?", he asked, hastily pushing the book in his bag.

Valdyr nodded, then stretched. "Sound as a rock. What d'you want for breakfast, more boar ?" he asked as he threw a bit of wood into their fire.

"Heh, why not", Horknath answered, getting up to stretch a bit. He grunted, then glanced back to the tent. "I see the sleeping beauty is still snoring", he chuckled, passing over some meat to Valdyr.

"I guess travelling in a bag for most of the day yesterday got him exhausted," Valdyr sighed. "... Honestly, no more hiding between us, ok? I mean if you want to bring people along, just ask me next time."

Horknath got violently red. He lowered his gaze, and scratched his head. "Yeah, I... I will. I'm sorry", he muttered. "I have to get used to stop hiding things. 's a bad habit that dies hard, but it will die."

Valdyr smiled. "It's okay." He started to prepare a small meal for the three of them, with the boar Horknath had hunted the day before. "I mean, I get you if you don't plan on following me for months."

Horknath sat back down, with a grunt. "I will hardly find people as decent with me as you've been", he answered bitterly. "And well, you're not bad you know", he added with a smile.

"Thanks. But that's one more reason why you should talk to me whenever you change ours plans at the last minute," Valdyr said with a smile.

"I will. Promise", Horknath said solemnly, raising his hand in an oath. And man, was he serious. "Well! I guess I'll wake the boy up now. What you think?", he said, getting up.

"That I didn't adopt him," Valdyr replied with a smile, as he prepared three bowls of meat with a nice broth. He was actually a pretty decent cook, given their means.

Horknath laughed. He peeked inside the tent, whistling. "Oi. Wake up, princess, it's past the sunrise! C'mon!", he said, shaking the form under his sleeping bag.

"Mmgmn what time is it," Yvan grunted as he tried to dive deeper into the sleeping bag.

"Who cares. Sun's up, we'll move soon after breakfast. So if you want to eat something I warmly suggest you to get out of MY bag", Horknath said merrily, smacking Yvan's leg.

Yvan whined, but finally began to crawl helplessly out of the bag. He was definitely not a morning person. And that made Valdyr snicker secretely. At least he'd have fun at the mage's expense.

Horknath went back to his sitting place by the fire, snickering too. One could see that Yvan had never, ever travelled as himself before. "We shouldn't be that far", he told Valdyr. "Half a day at a good pace and we'll be in the next city."

"Which means tonight we sleep in a real bed. Or well, I will. I don't know about you," Valdyr replied, as he gave Horknath his bowl.

Yvan yawned loudly as he collapsed by Horknath's side, exhausted.

Horknath replied with a 'thanks' and grabbed his bowl. "Heh. What, you think you can get rid of me that easily?", he grinned to Valdyr before taking a bite of his food. He patted Yvan's shoulder on the other side, not very gently either. "C'mon, it's not that early!"

"No, I thought you'd spend the whole night drinking, Valdyr answered with a smile, while Yvan yelp, almost dropping his bowl.
"Dude, there's like, still water on the leaves ! It's way too early, I'm freezing," the mage protested.

"Eh, maybe I'll do that", Horknath said, emptying his bowl quickly. "Well, Yvan. Unfortunately, this is the life of people that travel. An you're lucky the weather is being charitable with us", he added.
