Astronaut6: Oh dear

"Yeah!" Dean sounded just a bit more offended than Rowena was as he distractedly offered Mira his hand to play with. "And she even almost got it right - she can't even say 'daddy' right. I can't allow her first well-spoken word to be 'Crowley'!" Yes, that thought almost made him grimace.

Eileen, from her place in front of the boiling water, shook her head with a smile. "She's not even one year old and he is already jealous?", she whispered to Castiel.

"Well, technically speaking, wasn't her first real word "Papa?" Sam objected with a smile.
Mira thoroughly inspect Dean's hand, as she always did whenever her daddy offered her his hand to play with. It was so big and intriguing!!

Castiel held back a smile. "I can't really blame him. I would have feel offended to notice she liked Crowley better than us, even at that age."

"Myeah, that kind of consoles me", Dean confirmed, smiling lightly at his daughter. "Besides, daddy is more difficult to say than papa. She'll need time. And she is so cute when she calls for Cas, I can't even try to be mad!" He poked her nose gently.

"Oh I am sure she wouldn't be able to love someone more than the two of you", Eileen observed, throwing an affectionate glance at Mira. "Even though she seems to be a really affectionate girl!" She finally finished to preparw the dishes, and started to bring them on the table.

Mira laughed kindly, and tried to catch Dean's hand in hers again.
Sam looked down, and smiled fondly. "She's cute. Do you want me to try and give her her meal while you eat, for once?" He figured he could try and get ready for his own parenthood to come. He still felt giddy about the news.

"She is," Castiel confirmed, as he helped Eileen, after he had given Dean Mira's mashed food.

Dean smiled brightly at Mira, then raised a brow at his brother's unexpected request. "Well, why not. Sure", he said, lifting Mira up. "What do you say Mira! Wanna go to uncle Sam's?", he asked her, smiling at Castiel as a thank you for the food.

Eileen threw a sweet smile at her soulmate, and sat down between him and Rowena as soon as she finished placing the dishes on the table, and opening beer bottles.

Mira looked at Sam, a bit confused, but she ended up tilting her head. "m'am?" That was far, far away from Sam's name, but it still was really cute. Sam extended his arms for Dean to give him his niece, with a fond smile.

Dean carefully passed his cute daughter over to his brother, sliding the dish with her mashed food over to him. "Have fun", he simply said with a smile, before voraciously attacking his food.

Eileen served herself some water, and started to eat her food silently. She wanted to wait until everyone was finished with their dish before giving the good news and break out some pastries she had bought to celebrate.

Castiel looked at Dean, hiding back a smile. "You should slow down, Dean." He knew perfectly well that eating was a matter of speed now they had Mira to take care of, but still, he wasn't sure it was humanly possible to eat that fast without any dire consequences.

Sam threw Eileen a fond look, but he then fed Mira, securing her in his lap to do so. She looked so tiny sitting there!

Dean lifted his gaze from his plate, cheeks stuffed with food. One could guess why he was called squirrel. "Wo't?", he asked, mouth full. Yeah, no, he just was made like that. Adorable, but also kind of disgusting, let's face it.

Eileen patiently waited for everyone to be done with their food. Then stood up, quietly calling for everyone's attention. "Everyone, listen please. I have an important thing to tell you all."

Castiel made a face that he didn't even try to hide. "Just- don't choke, please," he ended up saying with a smile. Then he lifted his gaze and looked up to Eileen, curious.

Sam was also kind of nervous, and giddy once more. He actually had to prevent himself from smiling too much.

Dean snorted, but lifted his gaze up to Eileen, curious as well.

Eileen paused meaningfully, waiting for everyone's eyes to be on her. Then, solemnly, with a very serious expression, she gently put a hand over Sam's shoulder and declared, "Sam is pregnant."

Cue the most terrible wheezing, choking noises coming from Dean.

Rowena burst out laughing, and stood up almost immediately. "Congratulations, sweetheart!" she said to Eileen, walking to her for a hug, while Sam just... sat there, bewildered. Before he laughed himself. "Wait- what?"

Castiel, however, blinked a few times. "... Isn't that worryingly odd?" he asked, tilting his head. No. He didn't get the joke.

Eileen laughed herself, hugging Rowena back. "Thank you", she said, again getting a bit moved just by that thought. She winked at Sam from over Rowena's shoulder. "Seeing this family, it seemed like the more believable way to share the news", she grinned jokingly.

Once Dean had managed to get over his choking hazard, he burst into laughter. "Don't worry, Cas. Eileen is just making fun of us - and of all the odd things that happened over these months involving men getting pregnant." He soundly patted his brother's back, getting him into a bear hug. And being careful not to crush his cute bean daughter.

"Actually I almost believed you for a split second, then I remembered I had nothing to do with it," Rowena joked kindly. "But that's such good news!"

Sam hugged Dean back, smiling widely. "We figured Mira would also like a cousin to play with," He said to his brother.

Eileen laughed again, glancing at Sam. She was filled with joy - and that much was pretty clear in her eyes, and in how lovingly she gazed at her soulmate.

Dean snorted. "Oh, she will be happy for sure. Just wait until she gets her grabby little hands on Eileen's belly", he added then, remembering how weirdly gleeful she had been when feeling up Crowley's own womb.

"Really? Why so?" Sam asked with a smile. He hadn't been there during that awkward visit from Crowley and Hanakael - he had just learned about the fact that Crowley was pregnant from Rowena, who had downed a whole whiskey bottle at that thought.

Dean's smile got awkward. "Well, she... seems to be very interested in people that are bearing a child. I guess she likes the energy of the unborn kid, because she can feel it, unlike us." It was all hypotheses of course, he couldn't be sure of what Mira felt or didn't feel.

"... We could try," Sam said. He could now picture Mira being interested by Crowley's belly, but maybe it was weird to ask with Rowena being in the same room. He walked to Eileen, and gently handed her her niece. "Hey. Would you mind holding her up for a minute? Dean thinks she could feel- our child." He ended that sentence on a sheepish tone, since the idea itself was sort of intimidating. It was a thing to think "We'll be parents," it was another to think talk about the child. Oddly enough.

Eileen blinked, surprised by the request. But then she nodded, gently taking a hold of her niece and smiling at her. "Hello, you", she cooed happily, kissing her forehead. She looked back at Sam once again. "I wonder if she'll actually feel something. After all, our child isn't a nephilim", she reminded him. With the same sheepish smile he had. Because yes, the thought was really intimidating.

Mira didn't react, at first. Then, she looked at Eileen in confusion. Then down, at her belly. "Oh," she said, both startled and confused again, as she tried to touch her belly. It was weird, this one wasn't sending power waves!
Meanwhile, Sam was holding his breath. More than a pregnancy test, this felt almost overwhelming.

Eileen held her breath as well, feeling suddenly very nervous. "Maybe it's... too early for her to feel anything?", she asked, unsure. Or maybe she had celebrated too soon. After all, pregnancy tests weren't one hundred percent accurate, right?

"I actually think she's feeling it," Sam said, moving closer to Eileen, as Mira kept her hands on her belly. She even smiled brightly at her aunt, making cute little excited noised.

Eileen's expression suddenly relaxed, her relieved smile brightening up her whole face. "I'm glad", she simply answer, smiling down at Mira with a kind gaze. Nothing could have ruined that moment for her. Nothing.

Sam held back a soft chuckle, and wrapped a hand around Eileen and Mira, to hold his soulmate close, and lay a soft kiss on her forehead. He too was happy.
