Ian thought about it. "Just a tiny bit", he confessed. "A tiny bit because, number one, you aren't a serial killer, so that's already good enough for me, and number two, stealing for a living, and not for fun!"

Newt smiled to himself, and offered Ian to sit in the sand, in the shadow of a tree. "Who knows. Maybe one day you won't regret it at all ~"

Ian sat down, his back against the tree. "Maybe, yes", he offered with a smile. "But, what about you? Doesn't it annoy you that I am a marine?" He offered Newt the sacket with the sweets inside.

"Oh no. If anything, I find it rather... thrilling." Newt picked one of the pastries out of the bag to taste it, and sighed happily, laying his head on Ian's shoulder.

"Thrilling?" Ian tilted his head slightly, taking a pastry for himself. "How is it thrilling?" It was as if he failed to see the mechanism. He smiled, looking at Newt. "You like sweets, eh?"

"I do. Don't get to eat some much often," Newt admitted. "And, well... I don't know. I just think that I'd better not screw up, because now, you'll be watching me closely ~"

"Very closely", Ian confirmed, eating up his pastry. He decided to slid an arm around Newt's shoulders, slowly, a bit hesitantly. "You handed me a weapon, you know? Now I'm going to buy you sweets all the time if you get upset", he smiled.

"...Gosh, you're going to make me cry," Newt replied as he looked at me. "Look at you. You've met me a few hours ago, I tricked you into getting into a date with me and now you're the sweetest boy I could have hoped for. Is this a trick, officer ~"

"Well, it depends", Ian smirked down at him. "Do you want it to be a trick? Or maybe, are you the one tricking me? I could turn this into an interrogation any moment." But it honestly surprised him too, just how fast things had unrolled.

"Who knows, officer," Newt smiled, as he caught his chin between his fingers. "Maybe you'll be the one becoming a criminal, when I'm done with you."

"I am afraid you will have to work a lot if you want that. I can be very stubborn", Ian replied, his voice lowering. Something in the back of his head was poking at him, telling him to pull away. He wasn't listening.

"What a coincidence. Me too." Newt smiled at him, and leaned closer to him to capture his lips, for a tender kiss.

Ian let out a soft sound of surprise, but it didn't last long. He kissed Newt back gently, his hand moving from the other man's shoulder to his back.

Neos kissed him for a good while, and parted away with a smile. "Still no regrets? ~"

Ian smiled back at Newt, pecking his lips again briefly. "Still no regrets", he confirmed. "For now, at least. And you? Still no regrets?"

"Well... I do wish I had the opportunity to sleep in a hotel room and use the shower in the last three days, but well," Neos replied with a laugh.

Ian laughed. "You don't get a lot of opportunities to shower, do you?" He shook his head. "I understand though. You should see how we are organized for this kind of stuff. Basically we get to be presentable a couple of days per year, when a high official comes to our base."

"Well. I don't have a place to live, so honestly, I'd be quite happy to be in your shoes, for once," Newt admitted with a soft laugh.

Ian tilted his head, frowning slightly. "How have you lived exactly, until now?", he asked worriedly.

"Well I sleep in my boat, try to steal some money, and I choose whether to eat with it or spare it," Newt replied with a shrug. He kept the 'and I try to find someone who'll take me to their room and let me use their bathroom' part to himself. He was too fond of Ian to just use him as an excuse to get a little bit of fun, and a shower.

Ian sighed. "It sounds like you have a pretty difficult life." He wondered briefly if Newt was happy with it. "Well, if you want to use the bathroom, maybe I could get you to the base with an excuse", he thought out loud, tapping his chin.

"Oooh, want to sneak me into your room? That's naughty," Newt teased him with a grin. "But I like the idea ~" what was his hand doing on Ian's torso? Heck, where else should it be.

Ian smiled a bit sheepishly at his teasing. "It won't be difficult. I have no roomates who could ask weird questions!" He took Newt's hand in his, looking into his eyes. "You want to stay here another bit, or you prefer to rush for that shower?" He smiled. Damn you, red cheeks.

"W-well I... I-uh, are you sure you wouldn't, uhm prefer some privacy or stuff?" Poor Ian, the awkwardness was strong in him. His face was pretty much boiling. This didn't mean that he didn't like the thought.
